Summary: OwnPodAI collects zero personal data. All AI processing happens on your device. We have no servers that receive your data. Your conversations never leave your phone.

1. Our Privacy Commitment

OwnPodAI is built on the principle that private AI should mean truly private. We designed the App so that all AI processing happens locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process any of your data.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

Conversations: Your prompts, messages, and AI responses are never transmitted anywhere
Personal Information: No names, emails, phone numbers, or accounts required
Usage Analytics: No tracking of which features you use, how often, or for how long
Device Information: No device IDs, IDFA, or hardware identifiers collected
Location Data: No GPS, IP-based, or network-based location tracking
Contacts, Photos, or Files: We do not access your contacts, photo library, or file system beyond model storage
Keystrokes or Screen Content: No keyboard logging or screen recording
Biometric Data: No Face ID, Touch ID, or other biometric data collected

3. Data That Stays On Your Device

The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device. OwnPodAI has no ability to access this data:

4. Network Connections

OwnPodAI makes network connections only in these specific situations:

Model Downloads: When you choose to download an AI model, the App connects to Hugging Face (huggingface.co) to retrieve the model file. This is a direct HTTPS download — no personal data is transmitted.
Local Server Mode: If you choose to connect to a local Ollama server, data is transmitted over your local WiFi network. This traffic never leaves your local network and OwnPodAI has no access to it.
App Store: Apple may collect standard App Store analytics (download count, crash reports) as per Apple's privacy policy. This is controlled by your iOS settings, not by OwnPodAI.

The App functions fully offline after models are downloaded. No internet connection is required for AI conversations.

5. Third-Party Services

OwnPodAI integrates with the following third-party services:

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or social media SDKs.

6. Apple App Privacy

As required by Apple's App Store, our App Privacy label declares: "Data Not Collected". OwnPodAI does not collect any data linked to your identity or any data used to track you.

7. Children's Privacy

OwnPodAI does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is designed for users aged 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that concerns you, please contact us.

8. Voice & Camera Data

When you use voice input or camera features:

Voice: Speech is processed using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Audio is not recorded, stored, or transmitted. Processing happens entirely on your device.
Camera/Photos: Images you attach to conversations are processed on-device using the loaded AI model. Images are not transmitted to any server. Camera access requires your explicit iOS permission.

9. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

Apple's iOS app sandbox — other apps cannot access OwnPodAI's data
Device encryption — all data is encrypted when your device is locked
No server-side storage — there is no server to breach
No network transmission of conversations — there is nothing to intercept

10. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

Delete conversations: Settings → Delete conversation history
Delete models: Manage Models → select model → Delete
Delete all data: Uninstall the App — all data is permanently removed

Since we do not collect or store any data on our servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion of.

11. International Users

OwnPodAI processes all data on your device regardless of your location. No data crosses borders or is stored in any jurisdiction. This makes OwnPodAI compliant with data residency requirements by design.

12. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

For users in the European Union, OwnPodAI is compliant with GDPR by design:

No data processing: We do not process personal data, so no legal basis for processing is required
No data controller: Since we collect no data, we do not act as a data controller
Right to erasure: Delete the App to remove all data
Data portability: All data exists only on your device and is under your control

13. Australian Privacy Act Compliance

OwnPodAI complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). As we do not collect personal information, most APPs are satisfied by default. We are committed to transparency about our data practices.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
